Carnival Spirit's Seattle-to-Mobile repositioning now boards Friday 9 Oct 2026, one day later than Thursday 8 Oct. The cruise drops from 16 nights to 15. Cabo San Lucas, Tuesday 13 Oct from 8am to 4pm, is cancelled and becomes a sea day. Puntarenas stays Saturday 17 Oct, 7am to 7pm. The Panama Canal transit stays Monday 19 Oct. Cruise Hive, dated 5 Oct, quotes the Carnival email. The email says the ship extended time in Hawaii on Saturday 3 Oct for a repair, and that the Seattle return slips to Friday 9 Oct. Cruise Hive does not describe the repair. No Carnival newsroom post was found. The same report lists a one-day pro-rated fare refund, Cabo tours bought through Carnival refunded to the Sail & Sign account by the end of Saturday 10 Oct, pro-rated drink, WiFi, or gratuity refunds, a $250 onboard credit per stateroom, and travel-expense help up to $200 per person. Carnival said it would send more embarkation detail by 6pm on Tuesday 6 Oct. The report does not name a time zone.

Six Carnival sailings that depart 8-12 Oct are set for a full in-person safety drill instead of e-muster. Cruise Hive on 2 Oct quotes the email. Cruise Mummy on 3 Oct prints the same six ships. They are Spirit from Seattle, Luminosa from Tokyo on 9 Oct, Legend from Civitavecchia and Radiance from Long Beach on 11 Oct, and Firenze from Long Beach and Miracle from Galveston on 12 Oct. The Spirit drill note still says 8 Oct and 16 nights with Cabo. The later delay story moves boarding to 9 Oct. Neither report says the drill was dropped. On the drill, you go to your station, crew scan Sail & Sign cards, and food and beverage service closes. E-muster stays the rule on other sailings.

Norwegian Cruise Line is setting more competitive fares earlier in the booking curve. John Chidsey said that on the 30 Jul 2026 earnings call, as Cruise Industry News and Travel Weekly reported on 31 Jul. The work is on select 2027 sailings and on new 2028 inventory, and every new 2028 NCL sailing uses the method from the start. He said this is not a discount of the product. A 30 Sep Form 8-K says third-quarter results should exceed the 30 Jul guide, driven by better-than-expected revenue, and it reaffirms full-year guidance. That July guide is adjusted EPS of $0.90 and adjusted EBITDA of $874 million for the quarter, and about $1.50 and about $2.5 billion for the year. The filing prints no new fare and no price-drop rule.

Disney Believe's keel was laid at Meyer Werft in Papenburg on Sep. 29, 2026, with a coin showing Tinker Bell, the ship's bow character. Disney announced it on Oct. 5 to media aboard Disney Wish, where a scavenger hunt is teasing the ship. Disney named Trent Hitchcock as Believe's opening Cruise Director and confirmed hull 723. A livestream on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 4:30pm ET on the Disney Parks channels is set to share the homeport, itineraries, venues, and entertainment. No source prints a booking date or fare. Disney still lists late 2027.

MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean Group, through the joint venture Cruise Port Naha G.K., broke ground on a new cruise terminal at Naha, Okinawa. Royal Caribbean Group's Oct. 5 release targets completion and the start of operations for March 2028. Ryukyu Shimpo dates the ceremony Oct. 2. The release prints no cost, no size, and no ship list.

Holland America will sail six ships in Alaska from April through September 2027, its 80th year there: Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, and Zaandam. The Oct. 5 release adds an eight-day Inside Passage roundtrip from Vancouver with Glacier Bay, brings back the 28-day Solstice cruise on Noordam from Seattle on June 6, and adds 72 rooms at Denali Lodge. It prints no fares.

If you are on Spirit, move a Thursday boarding plan and drop Cabo. If you are on one of the six drill sailings, plan to stand at your station before departure. If you are pricing Norwegian for later 2027 or for 2028, compare the live fare now. If you want a first-season Disney Believe cruise, wait for the Oct. 7 homeport before you price flights. If you hold a Naha call before spring 2028, plan on today's port setup. If you want Holland America's Solstice cruise, June 6, 2027 is the date to price.
