Carnival Spirit will not board in Seattle on Thursday 8 Oct 2026. Cruise Hive, dated 5 Oct 2026, quotes a Carnival email to people booked on the Seattle-to-Mobile repositioning. Boarding is now Friday 9 Oct. The cruise drops from 16 nights to 15.

No Carnival newsroom post on this change was found. The dates and the money below come from that one Tier 2 report of the email.

The email says: “Saturday, October 3, Carnival Spirit had to extend time in Hawaii to address a repair issue that required additional time to complete.” It then says the return to Seattle is delayed until Friday 9 Oct, “resulting in a shortening of your cruise by one day.”

Cruise Hive does not say what the repair was.

What changed

You were due to board Thursday 8 Oct for 16 nights, Seattle to Mobile, with a Panama Canal transit.

Boarding is now Friday 9 Oct. The cruise is 15 nights.

Cabo San Lucas was Tuesday 13 Oct, 8am to 4pm. That call is cancelled. Tuesday is a sea day. Carnival’s reason, in the email, is the later departure and the need to keep the canal time slot.

Puntarenas stays Saturday 17 Oct, 7am to 7pm. The canal transit stays Monday 19 Oct.

Cruise Hive says no other itinerary change is confirmed. It also says no embarkation change is confirmed beyond the one-day delay.

People wrote John Heald, Carnival’s brand ambassador, to ask if the delay would affect the canal transit. Cruise Hive quotes him: “No, we still have our slot booked for that.”

The ship’s late return is a later change than the Hawaii port reorder on the cruise that left Seattle on 23 Sep. That post is Carnival Spirit reorders Hawaii ports for Hurricane Nolo. The email says the return to Seattle slips to Friday 9 Oct. That is why this next cruise boards a day late.

What Cruise Hive says Carnival is offering

These figures are in the 5 Oct Cruise Hive report. A Carnival page with the same offer was not found. Read them as one outlet’s account of the email until Carnival writes you.

Cruise Hive says people on this repositioning get:

  • A one-day, pro-rated refund of the cruise fare, back to the original form of payment.
  • A full refund of Cabo shore excursions bought through Carnival. That amount posts to the Sail & Sign account no later than the end of the day on Saturday 10 Oct.
  • A one-day, pro-rated refund of pre-paid drink packages, WiFi, or gratuities. That also posts to the onboard account by the end of the day on 10 Oct.
  • A $250 onboard credit per stateroom. Cruise Hive prints the amount in US dollars.
  • Reimbursement of non-refundable airfare change fees or other travel expenses, up to $200 per person. You submit receipts. If the flights are in FLY2FUN, Carnival adjusts them and contacts you.

The full drill on this sailing

A 2 Oct report still lists this cruise as an 8 Oct departure, 16 nights, with Cabo on the schedule, and says it will run a full in-person muster. That list is in Carnival requires full muster drills on six October sailings.

The delay report does not say whether the drill moved, stayed, or was dropped. Read both notes. If the full drill is still on, you gather at your station before the ship sails. Food and drink service stops during that briefing.

What this means for you

If your flight or hotel is built for a Thursday 8 Oct boarding, move it. Carnival said it would contact you by 6pm on Tuesday 6 Oct with more embarkation detail. Cruise Hive does not name a time zone for that clock.

Drop Cabo plans for Tuesday 13 Oct. Keep Puntarenas on Saturday 17 Oct, 7am to 7pm, and the canal day on Monday 19 Oct.

If Carnival sold you a Cabo tour, watch the Sail & Sign account through Saturday 10 Oct. If someone else sold the tour, call that seller. The refund Cruise Hive describes covers excursions bought through Carnival.

Watch the original card for the one-day fare refund. The $250 credit, the package refunds, and the airfare cap are in the same report. Open the note Carnival sends today before you change a non-refundable flight.
