Carnival Spirit reorders Hawaii ports for Hurricane Nolo

Carnival Spirit is still calling every Hawaii port on the cruise that left Seattle on Wednesday 23 Sep 2026. The order changed. Cruise Hive, dated 28 Sep 2026, quotes a Carnival guest letter from someone on board. No Carnival newsroom release was located. The port plan below comes from that Tier 2 write-up of the letter. This is the 15-night Seattle roundtrip. Pride of America’s Honolulu delay is a separate Norwegian sailing already on this site.
Cruise Hive says people on board were told the original itinerary is not possible because of Hurricane Nolo. You still get Honolulu, Nawiliwili, Kahului, and Hilo.
What changed
Original Hawaii order, per Cruise Hive: Honolulu, then Nawiliwili, then Kahului, then Hilo.
New order: Hilo, then Kahului, then Honolulu, then Nawiliwili.
The letter says the hours in each port stay the same:
- Tuesday 29 Sep: Hilo, 8am to 4pm
- Wednesday 30 Sep: Kahului, 9am to 9:30pm
- Thursday 1 Oct: Honolulu, 9am to 10pm
- Friday 2 Oct: Nawiliwili, 8am to 5pm
Victoria, British Columbia, stays Wednesday 7 Oct, 8pm to 11:59pm. The Seattle return stays Thursday 8 Oct. Cruise Hive says neither call changed.
Carnival will move shore excursions you bought from the line onto the new days. If a tour cannot be moved, the letter says you hear separately. Cruise Hive does not report a fare refund, onboard credit, or any other compensation.
The letter says: “Based on the storm’s forecasted track, we have adjusted our itinerary to prioritize the safety and comfort of everyone on board while also helping to provide the best possible experience in port.” It also says: “While we still expect to visit all scheduled ports, the sequence of our calls has changed.”
Watch the Good to Know channel on the stateroom television if the plan moves again. Cruise Hive puts the ship at 2,124 guests.
The storm
Cruise Hive’s storm box matches National Hurricane Center Advisory 29, issued at 11am HST on Sunday 27 Sep 2026. That bulletin put Hurricane Nolo about 365 miles south-southwest of Honolulu, moving west near 12 mph, with maximum sustained winds near 115 mph. Nolo was a Category 3 hurricane then. The advisory said a turn toward the northwest was expected by that night, and that the center would remain well south and southwest of the main Hawaiian Islands while approaching the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument in a couple of days. It said swells were affecting exposed east- and south-facing shores.
Cruise Hive’s article is dated 28 Sep 2026 and calls that the 11am HST update. It does not name the advisory number. The 11am HST update on Monday 28 Sep 2026 is a later bulletin, Advisory 33. That one lists maximum sustained winds near 145 mph, a Category 4 hurricane, and a center about 420 miles southwest of Honolulu, moving west-northwest near 12 mph. It says the center will remain well southwest and west of the main Hawaiian Islands and approach the monument on Tuesday. Swells in that bulletin are on south- and west-facing shores. A hurricane warning covers the monument from Nihoa to French Frigate Shoals. That warning area is not Hilo, Kahului, Honolulu, or Nawiliwili.
Cruise Hive says that when it wrote, no hurricane watch or warning was in effect for the Big Island or for Carnival Spirit’s Hawaii ports, and that a hurricane watch was already up for the remote northwestern islands. Advisory 33 shows a hurricane warning on that monument stretch. Use Advisory 33, or a newer one, for the storm. Use the guest letter for the port order.
What you should do
If you are on this Carnival Spirit sailing, keep every Hawaii port and reorder the days. Hilo is today, then Kahului, Honolulu, and Nawiliwili. Check that a Carnival tour moved with the port. If the line cannot keep a tour, wait for the separate notice. Leave Victoria on 7 Oct and Seattle on 8 Oct as booked. Watch the Good to Know channel before you leave the ship for a tour. Port facts follow Cruise Hive on 28 Sep 2026 quoting Carnival’s letter. Storm figures follow NHC Advisories 29 and 33.
