The short answerDisney Believe's keel was laid at Meyer Werft in Papenburg on 29 Sep 2026, with a custom Tinker Bell coin. Disney announced it on 5 Oct 2026 aboard Disney Wish, where a media scavenger hunt is teasing the ship. Disney says a livestream on Wednesday 7 Oct at 4:30pm ET will share the homeport, itineraries, venues, and entertainment. No source prints a booking date or a fare yet.

Disney Believe has its keel. Disney’s Ship’s Log, dated 5 Oct 2026, calls it the next milestone after the first gigablock floated in September. The bigger date for your money is tomorrow. Disney says a livestream on Wednesday 7 Oct at 4:30pm ET will name the homeport and the itineraries.

What happened at the yard

The Disney Cruise Line Blog dates the ceremony 29 Sep 2026 at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. Cruise Hive prints the same date.

The coin shows Tinker Bell. Disney says the portrait mirrors the artwork going on Believe’s bow. Disney’s two 5 Oct posts word the coin step differently. The Ship’s Log says it was placed under the keel, temporarily. Laura Pilat’s post says it was welded to the keel block.

Construction on the second gigablock is underway, per the Ship’s Log. Cruise Hive says that block is the forward section, with the main theater. Disney still lists a late 2027 debut. That is the same window as our first gigablock post.

How Disney broke the news

Disney told a hosted group of media and content creators aboard Disney Wish on Monday 5 Oct. The group is on a three-day scavenger hunt for Believe clues. Seatrade Cruise News has a reporter onboard. It says this is the first Disney ship reveal held at sea.

Two details came out of day one, per Disney’s own post:

  • Believe is hull 723 at Meyer Werft.
  • Trent Hitchcock is the opening Cruise Director for Believe.

The clues so far point to new food and drinks. Seatrade describes a gin cocktail topped with a bubble. Disney is not naming any of it yet.

What the 7 Oct livestream is set to cover

Disney’s 28 Sep post lists four things: homeport, itineraries, new venues, and entertainment. It runs at 4:30pm ET on the @DisneyParks YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok channels. Seatrade says it streams from the Walt Disney Theatre aboard Disney Wish.

None of the sources here prints a booking date, a fare, or a maiden voyage date. Do not assume booking opens the same day.

What this means for you

If you want a first-season Believe cruise, keep your deposit money where it is until Wednesday afternoon. Watch the stream for the homeport before you price flights. If the homeport is far from you, compare live Wish, Treasure, and Destiny dates the same evening.

Facts above follow Disney Parks Blog posts dated 28 Sep and 5 Oct 2026, the Disney Cruise Line Blog on 5 Oct, and Cruise Hive and Seatrade on 6 Oct 2026.
