President's Cruise 2026 is underway on Icon of the Seas. No Bayley Q&A yet.

Still: Royal Caribbean YouTube Short, "Miami, do we have your attention?" · https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt1iSyeiCro
The short answerAs of about 8:15 AM ET on Sunday, Oct 4, 2026, Royal Caribbean says the President's Cruise is underway on Icon of the Seas. The ship left Miami around 4:45 PM ET on Oct 3, came back for an official drone show, and two creators showed Central Park dressed as Spritz Park. Michael Bayley's Q&A has not been reported as held. There is no leadership quote from the ship yet. We will update this page after the Q&A.

Royal Caribbean says the President’s Cruise is underway. A Facebook video posted about 1:00 AM ET on Sunday, Oct 4, 2026, puts it in the line’s own words: “And we’re off! President’s Cruise 2026 is officially underway.”

This is a what-we-know-so-far story. It was checked at about 8:15 AM ET on Sunday. Icon of the Seas left Miami on Saturday. Michael Bayley’s onboard Q&A has not been reported as held. No Royal Caribbean executive has been quoted from the ship. We will update this page after the Q&A.

If you sail this line, that missing quote is the point. Royal Caribbean Blog says the Common Ground Q&A returns with “no filter or pre-screening.” On the 2025 cruise he named this Icon sailing. The Sandals deal was announced Sep 22. On Cruise Critic, passengers are asking people onboard to tell leadership that entertainment is slipping. That request is chatter. None of the answers are in yet.

The sailing

Icon is on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean round trip from Miami, Saturday Oct 3 through Saturday Oct 10, 2026. Royal Caribbean’s booking page lists the package as IC07E479.

The official President’s Cruise page says the host is “President & CEO Michael Bayley, other Royal Caribbean executives.” It promises “signature events to surprise moments.”

This is the first President’s Cruise on an Icon Class ship. Royal Caribbean Blog reports the earlier host ships as Allure of the Seas in 2023, Oasis of the Seas in 2024, and Utopia of the Seas in 2025. Bayley announced this Icon sailing during the 2025 cruise, on Utopia.

The ports show up on Royal Caribbean’s itinerary and on Cruise Critic: Miami, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Perfect Day at CocoCay, with three sea days. Dock clocks beyond the Miami departure come from one schedule site, Cruisesheet. That page lists sea days on Oct 4, Oct 5, and Oct 8. It lists Philipsburg on Oct 6 from 8 AM to 5 PM, St. Thomas on Oct 7 from 7 AM to 2:30 PM, CocoCay on Oct 9 from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, and a 6 AM Miami arrival on Oct 10. Those times are that site’s schedule.

Royal Caribbean Blog reported in March that anyone who books can go. That article put inside cabins at $1,670.02 per person. The figure is from March 20, 2026. It is a spring fare check.

What Saturday confirmed

Sail-away was scheduled for 4:30 PM ET. Icon left at about 4:45 PM ET. The departure time comes from the automated tracker @ddships and from AIS on VesselFinder.

The ship came back. Passengers on a Cruise Critic thread described Icon returning to PortMiami on Saturday evening, holding for a drone show, and leaving again. Royal Caribbean then posted the show itself. A YouTube Short at 8:56 PM ET is titled “Miami, do we have your attention?” The description says: “Guests aboard President’s Cruise enjoyed a spectacular drone show over Icon of the Seas tonight as we kick off the next few days of fun, celebrations, and core memory making.”

One passenger on that Cruise Critic thread, justcrusn, wrote that the drones spelled “The Icon of vacations” and the Royal Caribbean logo. That lettering is one eyewitness report. Royal Caribbean’s caption confirms the show. It does not name the words in the sky.

The official Day 1 schedule, posted by Crown & Anchor around 9:00 AM ET on Saturday, listed five events. They are the Miami Sail Away Party, the President’s Cruise Welcome Party, the Drone Spectacular, the Glow-at-Sea Party, and the Midnight Balloon Drop. Royal Caribbean has confirmed the drone show on video. This check has no separate recap of the other four.

Central Park was dressed for the week. Two creators, working separately, showed the same setup. Nicki on Deck posted at 5:28 PM ET that Royal Caribbean filled Central Park with fresh flowers and turned it into Spritz Park. A Lit Life HQ short, around 7:52 PM ET, shows the takeover with on-screen text that reads “SPRITZ PARK.”

What was promised, and what has not happened

The big named events were previewed before sail-away. None of them have been reported as held.

Royal Caribbean Blog’s Aug 7 preview is the detailed list, and it matches the official page and Bayley’s own post. It includes a Common Ground Q&A, a Kool & the Gang concert, a Royal Chef Showdown against a mystery guest chef, and a memory-lane event. The blog says the Q&A returns with “no filter or pre-screening.” The date is not confirmed. The chef is not named. The only hint in that preview is a guest chef “with ties to a country known for rolling dough, tossing pies…”

Bayley’s LinkedIn post on Sep 15 is the preview in his own words: “Presidents Cruise ❤️ Oct. 3 to 10 ❤️ Icon of the Seas. Be there or be square. Starring Kool & the Gang, the Champagnator, along with Ken the Super Cruise Director, Bing Bong Walker, and me and the gang. Lots of fun and wonderfully ridiculous activities!”

He wrote “be there or be square.” The ship was there. The Q&A has not produced a sentence we can quote. An official Facebook video from about Oct 2 calls the week a personal sneak peek. He says, “See you Saturday!”

A passenger Facebook group post from Sep 29 says, verbatim, “The Common Ground With Michael Bayley event has been added to the App on Day 2 at 10:30am.” Day 2 is Sunday. Comments on that post report a clash with a Top Tier event and guess that Top Tier moved to Day 3. That is one passenger report, plus comments. Royal Caribbean has not confirmed the 10:30 AM time. It has not confirmed a Day 3 move. As of this writing, Common Ground has not been reported as held.

Overnight, a creator channel uploaded a video titled “Michael Bayley, Ken Rush on President cruise Icon of the seas.” The upload has no description or transcript we could read. There is no quote in it for this story.

No leadership quotes yet

The gap is the part that matters to you. As of about 8:15 AM ET on Oct 4, Bayley’s Q&A had not been reported as held. No executive quote has come off the ship. The official lines so far are the underway post, the drone-show caption, the Day 1 schedule, and Bayley’s notes from before the gangway.

Past cruises are why people wait on this one. Royal Caribbean Blog reports that in 2023 Bayley said a smaller ship class was being deeply considered, and that the class later became Discovery Class. On the 2025 cruise he named this Icon sailing and these dates. A sentence from this week would continue that pattern. We do not have one.

Earlier President’s Cruise answers, including the requests he has turned down on the record, are in 6 Things Royal Caribbean’s CEO Refuses to Change. That page is the old record. This sailing has not added a quote to it.

What fans want answered

These are the questions already sitting in public, before anyone on Icon has reported an answer.

Sandals. On Sep 22, Royal Caribbean Group said it will buy a 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches for about $3 billion, with a close expected in early 2027. The release is the source. Reuters reported the same deal on Sep 23. The Sep 22 release says existing reservations, loyalty programs, resort operations, and cruise operations continue as usual. A cruise you have already booked stays on its own timeline. The open question fans want asked is what you can use later: loyalty points, a cruise-and-resort trip, or no new perk at all. Royal Caribbean Blog has reported a plan to link Royal Caribbean’s loyalty program with Sandals. That report is one site. The release says the companies will explore deeper guest engagement. It does not name a new linked perk, and Bayley has not addressed the deal from the ship. The signed terms already on this site are in 5 Things Royal Caribbean Just Confirmed About Sandals and the Sep 23 news post.

Entertainment. This part is passenger chatter. It is not a company statement. On Saturday, Cruise Critic poster cusematt4 asked people on this cruise to speak with leadership. The post says: “Hi everyone - if anyone attending the President’s Cruise has an opportunity to speak with leadership, could you please respectfully convey the disappointment many guests have expressed about the direction of Royal Caribbean’s entertainment?” The same post says: “Moving away from those intimate venues toward just zero or one comedian performing in the main theater over an entire cruise feels like a huge loss.” It also says: “Many are also disappointed by the shift from visiting professional entertainers to game shows with an additional charge, such as The Price Is Right.” Later that afternoon the same poster wrote: “Oasis class ships just had them removed over the past 6 months with the rest set to be removed this year.” He added that he “spoke to some ship management who said it’s frustrating as these are the most popular venues aboard and this is strictly a budget cut from corporate.” That management line is hearsay from one poster. Royal Caribbean has not confirmed it.

Other replies are passengers answering the poster. mets123 told disappointed passengers to find another cruise line. AZ Squirrel called the shift toward “pay to play” game shows “pretty lame.” The thread is the question some fans hope reaches the microphone. A comedy-club cut remains one poster’s claim.

The 2027 cruise. Bayley announced this Icon week on the 2025 President’s Cruise. Royal Caribbean Blog says the line will “go all out” for the 10th President’s Cruise in 2027. No ship and no itinerary for 2027 have been revealed on this sailing. If you are holding a week next fall, that announcement is the one to watch. It has not happened.

Icon’s next Miami chapter. Separate from this cruise, Royal Caribbean’s Oct 2 release says Hero of the Seas sails from Miami in August 2027 and will stage The SpongeBob Musical in the Royal Theater. The write-up is Hero of the Seas will stage The SpongeBob Musical. Royal Caribbean Blog has also reported that Hero takes Icon’s Miami place from August 2027. Bayley has not been quoted on either point from this ship. If your Icon plans run past summer 2027, the home-port question is the one you would want asked. We do not have his answer.

Matt Hochberg at Royal Caribbean Blog already published a fan list on Aug 26. The video is “3 Questions I hope someone asks Michael Bayley on the President’s Cruise.” The podcast is episode 623. That list is what one longtime reporter hopes gets asked. It is not a transcript from the ship.

The sailing just before this one is a different cruise. Icon’s Sep 26 to Oct 3 trip stayed overnight in Miami for maintenance and cancelled Costa Maya. That story is Icon of the Seas stays overnight in Miami. This President’s Cruise still left on Oct 3.

What you should do

If you are on the ship, watch the app and the theater. Treat a Facebook comment about 10:30 AM as one passenger’s report until the line, or a second source, says the Q&A happened.

If you are at home, wait for the quotes. We will update this story when Common Ground is reported, and when Bayley answers on the record.

Leave your booking alone on the strength of the Sandals headline or a Cruise Critic thread. The stake points at an early 2027 close. The entertainment posts are passengers. They are not a schedule change.
