MSC World Asia is through its final sea trials. Cruise Industry News reported the milestone on 14 Sep 2026, carrying dates MSC announced for delivery, naming, and the maiden voyage. Treat those calendar items as MSC’s published plan filtered through that Tier 2 report.
Delivery and naming calendar
First trials ran in July. Final trials covered Atlantic waters off France. Delivery from Chantiers de l’Atlantique is listed for 25 Nov 2026. The naming ceremony is set for Le Havre on 28 Nov 2026.
Maiden voyage shape
The maiden cruise leaves Barcelona on 4 Dec 2026 for seven nights. Ports include Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Messina, and Valletta. MSC is selling embarkation from any of those ports, so you can join mid-loop if Barcelona air does not fit.
What kind of ship this is
World Asia becomes MSC’s 24th ship and the third LNG World-class vessel. Cruise Industry News highlighted shore-power readiness and the ability to burn LNG, bio-LNG, or synthetic LNG.
The headline attraction for many bookers is the Spiral at the Tree of Life. The slide runs 81.3 meters across 12 decks. That number comes from the same CIN write-up of MSC’s announcement package.
Booking angle
December Mediterranean weather is cooler than summer. Shoulder-season pricing often follows. If you want a first-season World-class cabin, watch the Dec 4 maiden and the sailings that fill the weeks after delivery. Itineraries and dining menus can still change between sea trials and the first revenue cruise.
What you should do
Hold flexible flights around late November if you are attending naming events in Le Havre. For the maiden, compare air into Barcelona versus a mid-cruise embark such as Genoa or Civitavecchia. Reconfirm final dining and attraction hours closer to sailing. Dates and features above follow Cruise Industry News coverage of MSC’s announcement on 14 Sep 2026.
