Bookings are open for MSC’s 2029 World Cruise. It is 119 nights on MSC Magnifica, with 45 destinations in 21 countries.

The MSC press release is datelined Geneva, 12 Oct 2026, and the press-area page is stamped 19 Oct 2026. TravelPulse, Sarah Kuta, updated 19 Oct at 11:50 a.m. ET, and Cruise Industry News on 19 Oct, track the same release. The counts below are the release.

Where you get on

You have four embarkation choices in early January 2029. The release prints one date.

PortWhat the release prints
Civitavecchia, for Rome4 Jan 2029
GenoaAfter Civitavecchia. No date is printed.
MarseilleAfter Civitavecchia. No date is printed.
BarcelonaAfter Civitavecchia. No date is printed.

TravelPulse calls the cruise round-trip. The press release does not name the final port. Cruise Industry News does not name one either. Book from the embarkation port you can use, and read the return on the booking page before you pay.

What the fare includes

The cruise ticket, in the release, includes three extras.

  • 15 shore excursions. The release does not name them.
  • A Dine and Drink package. It covers house wines, draught beer, and a selection of other drinks, served at lunch and dinner. It does not say the package runs all day.
  • 30 percent off laundry. Laundry is discounted, not free.

Classic MSC Voyagers Club members, and anyone above Classic, get 5 percent off the booking price. The sales-opening benefit runs until 19 Nov. Members earn triple points on the World Cruise booking, and the points post before departure. The release does not print the year on 19 Nov. It also does not say the points offer is limited to Classic and above. Cruise Industry News and TravelPulse print the same 5 percent and the same 19 Nov points line.

None of the three sources prints a fare. This post does not add one.

The route, in the release

The release says the itinerary has nine overnight calls. It marks five of them by name: Rio de Janeiro, Ushuaia, Sydney, Fremantle/Perth, and Singapore. The release spells Rio as “Rio De Janerio.” The other four overnight calls are inside the count of nine, and they are not named in the headings. Cruise Industry News names the same five.

Australia is a circumnavigation in the release. The cities it names are Sydney, Melbourne, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, Perth, Broome, and Darwin. Fremantle/Perth is the new overnight. Kangaroo Island, Broome, and Darwin are marked new.

Indonesia is an extended stretch through Bali, Lombok, and Java. The new call it names is Celukan Bawang, in north Bali. It does not print a port name for Java beyond that stretch.

Other calls the release marks: Lautoka in Fiji and Timaru in New Zealand are new. Milford Sound returns. TravelPulse and Cruise Industry News print the same list.

You stay on one ship for the 119 nights. That is the practical piece. The release also describes destination-themed events, dining, and shows on board. Those lines do not change the fare.

MSC Magnifica is described as recently refurbished. The MSC Yacht Club on that ship is a separate area: keycard access, a butler, a concierge, a restaurant, a lounge, and a private deck. The release offers it to Yacht Club guests. It does not say a standard World Cruise fare includes that keycard. The ship list in the release is five restaurants, 12 bars, a theatre, a casino, and the Aurea Spa.

What this means for you

If you want this cruise, open the booking and read which 15 excursions are included before you treat the fare as a package. Check the embarkation date if you want Genoa, Marseille, or Barcelona. The release prints 4 Jan 2029 only for Civitavecchia. Classic and above can take the 5 percent. The triple-points window in the release ends 19 Nov, and the year is not printed. Leave a starting price out of the budget until MSC prints one. Facts above follow the MSC release datelined 12 Oct 2026, and TravelPulse and Cruise Industry News on 19 Oct 2026.
