MSC stops new status matches in Spain, France, and Italy

The short answerIf you use the Spain, France, or Italy MSC site, new Voyagers Club status-match requests stopped on 15 Oct 2026. A level already granted stays, under the normal renewal rules. Requests sent before that date are still processed. The club itself stays in place.

New status-match requests are closed on the Spain, France, and Italy MSC sites. The cutoff on those pages is 15 Oct 2026.

The Italy FAQ, the France FAQ, and the Spain FAQ were read on 19 Oct 2026. Cruise Hive, Melissa Mayntz, 18 Oct, Cruise Mummy, 19 Oct, and Pazzo per il Mare, 16 Oct, report the same cutoff. Pazzo covers the Italy decision and does not name Spain or France.

What the three sites say

Italy says that from 15 Oct 2026 you can no longer send a new Status Match request. France says the program ended on 15 Oct 2026. Spain’s first answer says the program was cancelled as of 15 October and does not print the year. The next question on that Spain page names 15 Oct 2026.

A request you already sent is still in the queue. All three pages say those requests keep being reviewed under the existing rules. Italy and Spain say you do not need to send anything else while you wait.

A level you already have

A Voyagers Club level that Status Match already gave you stays in place.

Cruise Hive prints this English line from the Spain page: the end only affects new applications, and a level already granted stays valid under the standard rules for maintenance, renewal, and upgrades. The Italy, France, and Spain FAQs say the same thing in those languages. Pazzo and Cruise Mummy print the same rule.

Your matched level still has to meet the normal club rules. If the level has a renewal requirement, that requirement is still there.

A booking you already hold keeps the benefits of the Voyagers Club level that is valid when you sail. That is on all three official pages. The level has to be valid on the cruise date.

The club itself

Voyagers Club stays. The three FAQs say the end covers Status Match only. Benefits, levels, and points from sailing stay in the program. Cruise Hive and Cruise Mummy say the same.

The reason on the three pages is the evolution of MSC’s commercial and loyalty strategy. The pages do not print a replacement match offer.

The top of the page still pitches the form

Read the FAQ under the intro. On the Italy, Spain, and France pages checked 19 Oct, a marketing paragraph above the FAQ still tells you to register with the Status Match form. The FAQ under it says new requests have stopped. Use the FAQ.

Other countries

Cruise Hive, as of its 18 Oct story, says the application was still up on the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, and other sites. Cruise Mummy on 19 Oct names the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. It does not name Germany or Austria.

This check requested the US status-match URL on 19 Oct and got HTTP 401. This post does not confirm that the US form is open. If you book on the US, UK, Canada, Germany, or Austria site, open that site’s Voyagers Club page and read whether a form is still there.

Cruise Hive says more than 75 outside programs had been eligible, including Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian. That count is not on the three FAQs read here. This post does not use it as an MSC figure.

If you still need a match and your market is Spain, France, or Italy, the form on those three sites is closed. If you already matched, check the level on the booking before you sail. If you sent the form before 15 Oct, wait for MSC to process it.

Previously submitted applications continue to be processed. The article quotes an English rendering of the Spain page: the end only affects new Status Match applications, and any Voyagers Club level already granted through Status Match remains valid under the standard rules for maintenance, renewal, and level upgrades. The article says there is no change to Voyagers Club benefits, tiers, or point earning. It says MSC posted the details on the Spain site, with nearly identical details on the France and Italy sites. As of press time, the article says the application was still available on the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, and other sites. It says more than 75 other loyalty programs had been eligible, including Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian, plus select hotel, airline, and casino programs. Enrollment was free and subject to approval. The article's translation of the Spain reason matches the commercial-and-loyalty-strategy line.
