The short answerCelebrity Millennium dropped Mt Fuji (Shimizu) on its current Japan cruise and stayed in Kagoshima for a second day. Celebrity's onboard guest letter cites Typhoon Dujuan. Celebrity cut Mt Fuji (Shimizu) on Celebrity Millennium’s current Japan cruise. The ship’s guest letter ties the change to Typhoon Dujuan and the need for a safer path toward Tokyo.

What changed on the calendar

Millennium sailed from Tokyo on 11 Sep 2026. The letter keeps Kagoshima on Saturday 19 Sep from 7:00 am, then holds the ship there through Sunday 20 Sep with a 5:00 pm departure. Monday 21 Sep is at sea. Tokyo return is Tuesday 22 Sep at 8:00 am, with final disembarkation Wednesday 23 Sep.

Shimizu is gone from that sequence. If your plan hung on a Fuji day from that pier, that day is not coming back on this sailing.

Shore excursions and money

Celebrity says prepaid Celebrity shore excursions for Mt Fuji (Shimizu) refund as onboard credit on your SeaPass account. You can spend that credit onboard. Any leftover refundable balance after disembarkation goes back to the card on file in up to 14 business days, per the same letter.

Independent guides, private drivers, and hotel holds sold against a Shimizu call are outside that automatic path. Contact those vendors yourself if you still hold deposits.

Storm context

Cruise Hive’s 19 Sep 2026 Typhoon Dujuan write-up places the storm on a path past Japan in this same window and notes Millennium’s Tokyo arrival on 22 Sep at 8:00 am. Treat Celebrity’s letter as Tier 1 for your ports and refunds. Use the Cruise Hive piece only for regional storm timing.

What you should do

If you are on this 11 Sep Millennium sailing, treat Kagoshima as a two-day call ending 5:00 pm on 20 Sep and drop Shimizu plans. Recheck excursion meeting points in the Celebrity app. If you hold a later Japan sailing on the same ship, open your own itinerary letter. Port fixes do not always copy from one departure to the next. Facts above follow Celebrity’s Millennium guest letter and Cruise Hive’s 19 Sep 2026 typhoon report.
