Arvia, MSC Virtuosa, and MSC Preziosa are on Associated British Ports’ Southampton list for Thursday evening, 22 Oct 2026. Cruise Hive says those arrivals are early, ahead of Storm Austen.
The clocks below are from the port feed the cruise schedule page loads. That page says the list is provisional. Confirm the terminal and your boarding time with the cruise line before you leave for the port.
What the port lists
The feed was read on 22 Oct 2026. The schedule page maps the berths to terminals.
| Ship | Arrival | Departure listed | Berth and terminal | Arrival field stamped |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arvia | Thu 22 Oct, 7:00 p.m. | Fri 23 Oct, 5:00 p.m. | 46, Ocean | 22/10/2026 13:47:37 |
| MSC Virtuosa | Thu 22 Oct, 7:00 p.m. | Sat 24 Oct, 8:00 p.m. | 102, Horizon | 22/10/2026 13:45:41 |
| MSC Preziosa | Thu 22 Oct, 9:30 p.m. | Fri 23 Oct, 6:00 p.m. | 101, City | 22/10/2026 12:05:22 |
The feed does not label a time zone on those stamps. Arvia’s departure field is stamped 21/10/2026 13:08:08. MSC Virtuosa’s departure field is stamped 20/10/2026 15:35:06. MSC Preziosa’s arrival and departure fields share one stamp, 22/10/2026 12:05:22. The feed does not print the previous arrival day.
The same feed still lists Queen Mary 2 at 6:00 a.m. Friday 23 Oct, on berth 38/9, the QEII terminal. This post is not a change notice for that ship.
What Cruise Hive says moved
Cruise Hive, Melissa Mayntz, 22 Oct, says the Thursday arrivals replace a later plan. Arvia and MSC Preziosa had been due Friday morning. MSC Virtuosa had been due Saturday morning. The article points at the ABP schedule for the new clocks. Those clocks match the feed above.
The article is also the report of an MSC alert to guests booked on the next MSC Preziosa sailing. Be at City Cruise Terminal no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday 23 Oct. Cruise Hive says the sailing had been due to leave at 8:00 p.m. and will now leave at 6:00 p.m. The port feed lists that 6:00 p.m. departure. It does not print the 2:00 p.m. terminal deadline or the old 8:00 p.m. time. No MSC newsroom post for the alert turned up in this check. No P&O post for Arvia turned up either.
Cruise Hive’s cruise lengths are its own. Arvia is ending a 13-night Mediterranean sailing that left Southampton on Saturday 10 Oct. MSC Virtuosa is ending a 5-night Northern Europe sailing that left Southampton on Monday 19 Oct. MSC Preziosa is ending a Northern Europe cruise. The article lists Arvia at 5,282 guests and MSC Preziosa at 3,959 guests. Those counts are not in the port feed.

Storm Austen, and where Southampton sits
The Met Office media centre, at 10:47 a.m. UK time on Wednesday 21 Oct, issued an amber wind warning for the whole of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and parts of West Devon. Deputy Chief Forecaster Chris Bulmer said gusts could reach 60-70 mph, with heavy rain, and that the exact track still has some uncertainty. The release says a wider yellow wind warning runs from Thursday evening into Friday. It does not name Southampton.
The warnings page, read 22 Oct, does list Southampton, inside a yellow wind warning for Friday 23 Oct that also covers Hampshire, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight. The amber detail on that page names Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly, and Plymouth, and it adds the chance of gusts around 80 mph on exposed headlands. The yellow detail says gusts of 50-60 mph are likely, with 70 mph or more possible on some coasts, and a spell of southerly gusts of 50-60 mph along the south coast on Thursday night. The page carries a banner that the office is having issues and the warnings may be out of date. An update stamp at 10:00 a.m. UK time on 22 Oct says a warning time was brought forward, and that a wider yellow was extended through Friday afternoon.
Cruise Hive’s hour window, amber from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and yellow from midnight to 2:00 p.m., is that article’s. It was published before the 22 Oct update on the warnings page. Use the warnings page for the current window, and read the banner.
The warnings page says road, rail, air, and ferry services may run late or cancel. Build that into a pickup on Thursday night and a drive to the port on Friday.
The next sailing
Cruise Hive says Arvia next starts a 14-night transatlantic from Southampton to Barbados, and that MSC Preziosa and MSC Virtuosa next sail Northern Europe. It says no itinerary changes are confirmed yet for those cruises. The MSC Preziosa departure time above is the clock change that article does report. A port list can still move. The ABP page says cruise lines can change an itinerary.
The East Coast and Pacific weather changes already on this site are different ships. Oasis of the Seas swaps the Bahamas for a full day in Halifax is the 18 Oct Cape Liberty sailing. It is not this Southampton turn.
What this means if you are at Southampton
If you are getting off, plan on Thursday evening. Arvia and MSC Virtuosa are listed at 7:00 p.m. MSC Preziosa is listed at 9:30 p.m. A Friday morning pickup is the old plan in the Cruise Hive report, not the plan on the port feed read today.
If you are boarding MSC Preziosa on Friday, the port lists a 6:00 p.m. departure from the City terminal, berth 101. Cruise Hive says the line wants you there by 2:00 p.m. Treat 2:00 p.m. as the instruction in that report until the email in your booking says something else.
If you are boarding Arvia or MSC Virtuosa, this check did not find a new terminal deadline. Arvia is listed to leave at 5:00 p.m. Friday from Ocean. MSC Virtuosa is listed to leave at 8:00 p.m. Saturday from Horizon. Those departure stamps are older than today’s arrival stamps. Read the line’s message anyway. The port says the times can move.

The storm is expected to bring very strong winds and heavy rain across southern areas late on Thursday and into Friday. A wider yellow wind warning remains in place from Thursday evening into Friday. Storm Austen is forecast to move across southern Britain late Thursday and during Friday morning. Chris Bulmer, Deputy Chief Forecaster: Storm Austen is expected to bring a spell of impactful weather to parts of the UK from Thursday night and through Friday. There remains some uncertainty in the exact track. There is increasing confidence in disruptive winds across parts of southwest England, which is why an amber warning has been issued. Wind gusts could potentially reach 60-70 mph for a time, combined with spells of heavy rain. Winds will gradually ease through Friday afternoon and evening. The release does not name Southampton, and it does not name a cruise ship.

An amber wind warning for Friday 23 Oct covers South West England, and the detail list names Cornwall, Devon, Isles of Scilly, and Plymouth. The amber further detail says a spell of very strong northwesterly winds is likely on Friday morning, with a good chance of gusts of 60-70 mph and perhaps some gusts around 80 mph on exposed headlands, plus heavy rain. A yellow wind warning for Friday 23 Oct lists London and South East England, including Southampton, Hampshire, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight, plus South West England, Wales, and the West Midlands. That yellow detail says strong west to northwesterly winds spread across southern England and Wales during Thursday night and into Friday, gusts of 50-60 mph are likely, some coastal or exposed areas could see 70 mph or more, more likely over southwest England, and a spell of southerly winds with gusts of 50-60 mph moves east along the south coast during Thursday night. An update stamp of 10:00 UTC+1 on Thursday 22 Oct gives the reasons warning time brought forward slightly, and, on a later yellow, warning area extended north across west Wales and warning time extended through Friday afternoon.
