Oasis of the Seas boards Cape Liberty late and skips Port Canaveral

Oasis of the Seas is boarding Cape Liberty hours late on Sunday 27 Sep 2026, and Port Canaveral is off the next Bahamas week. Cruise Hive published two reports that day, quoting Royal Caribbean guest messages after the East Coast nor’easter. No Royal Caribbean newsroom release was located. Every clock below comes from those two Tier 2 reports.
The earlier Oasis post on this site covers a 20 Sep medical evacuation into Cape Liberty. This note covers the 27 Sep nor’easter turn.
Late board on 27 Sep
Cruise Hive says the prior cruise, the 20 Sep Bahamas week, is 10 hours late into Cape Liberty. A stateroom letter put arrival at approximately 4:00pm Sunday 27 Sep, with debarkation from 4:30pm. The published homecoming had been about 6am. Cruise Hive lists the ship at 5,606 guests.
That late turn pushes the next embarkation. Royal Caribbean told 27 Sep guests boarding will not begin until 8:00pm. Original terminal windows started as early as 10am. The new window runs to 10:30pm. You must be checked in and onboard by 11:30pm. If you show up early, the line will turn you away and ask you to come back at your scheduled time. Cruise Hive says that wait can be in uncomfortable weather.
If you booked a Royal Caribbean airport transfer, Cruise Hive says those coaches now leave the airport at 8pm. Treat Sunday as a late-night embarkation.
Port Canaveral is cancelled
Cruise Hive says the published Cape Liberty departure was 3pm Sunday. The late board means the ship cannot keep the Bahamas and Perfect Day pattern as sold. Port Canaveral on Tuesday 29 Sep becomes a sea day. The original Florida window was 12:30pm to 7:00pm.
Nassau moves earlier. Arrival is now 7:30am Wednesday 30 Sep. The old arrival was 10:30am. Departure stays 5:30pm. Cruise Hive says that earlier call adds three hours ashore in Nassau.
Perfect Day at CocoCay on Thursday 1 Oct, 7am to 5pm, stays. Cruise Hive says the ship is still expected back in New Jersey on time on Sunday 4 Oct.
The 10-hour return letter, as Cruise Hive printed it, said the next sailing’s itinerary change was still to come. The Port Canaveral cancel, the 8pm board, and the Nassau clock are in the companion report of the 27 Sep guest email.
Credits for the next cruise
Prepaid Port Canaveral shore excursions booked through Royal Caribbean cancel and refund as onboard credit, per Cruise Hive. You also get a pro-rated one-day refund for pre-purchased packages, including beverage, Wi-Fi, and Ultimate Dining packages. That credit posts to the onboard account.
Tours and Florida ground plans you bought outside Royal are your own cancel problem.
If you are leaving the 20 Sep cruise
Cruise Hive lists travel help for the inbound sailing. Line-booked air is supposed to move on its own. If you booked your own flight, aim for a departure no earlier than 8pm Sunday. Royal will reimburse qualifying change fees up to $200 per person on a domestic ticket and $400 per person on an international ticket. Hotel help is up to $200 per stateroom if you cannot fly on 27 Sep. Keep receipts. A 60-minute internet voucher per stateroom is available through the app if you do not already have a package.
Vision of the Seas already has a separate nor’easter post on this site. Cruise Hive also notes that Independence of the Seas shortened Bermuda in the same weather window. That ship is a different sailing from this Oasis week.
What you should do
If you board Oasis on 27 Sep, use the 8pm to 10:30pm slot and be onboard by 11:30pm. Drop Port Canaveral plans for Tuesday. Watch onboard credit for Royal-booked Canaveral tours and the one-day package refund. Use the earlier Nassau morning and keep CocoCay on Thursday. If you are leaving the 20 Sep cruise, rebook flights for 8pm or later and save change-fee receipts. Facts above follow Cruise Hive, both reports dated 27 Sep 2026.
