The short answerRoyal Caribbean named retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson godmother of Legend of the Seas. The Veterans Day naming ceremony is 11 Nov 2026 in Fort Lauderdale. From there Legend sells six-night Western and eight-night Southern Caribbean cruises, each with Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Royal Caribbean put a date and a godmother on Legend of the Seas’ U.S. chapter. The line’s 15 Sep 2026 newsroom release is Tier 1 for the naming and the Fort Lauderdale Caribbean shape.

Naming day

Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson is godmother. The ceremony is Veterans Day, 11 Nov 2026, in Fort Lauderdale. Robinson is the first woman to lead a U.S. combatant command. Royal is tying the date to military service recognition, not only a marketing splash.

How you get Icon Class from South Florida

After a European summer, Legend moves to Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean seasons. Royal’s release lists six-night Western Caribbean sailings and eight-night Southern Caribbean sailings that include Aruba and Curaçao. Every Legend vacation from Fort Lauderdale calls Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Cruise Hive filled in the calendar around naming. A 13-night transatlantic leaves Barcelona on 25 Oct 2026 and reaches Fort Lauderdale on 7 Nov. A three-night CocoCay cruise leaves 8 Nov and returns at 6am on 11 Nov for the ceremony. A marketed Legend Naming Cruise is another three-night CocoCay trip after the naming. Regular Caribbean weeks start 14 Nov 2026 through an April 2027 Barcelona reposition, per that same Tier 2 report.

Why this matters for a booking

If you want third Icon Class hardware without a European air ticket, Fort Lauderdale is the product. Compare six-night Western loops against eight-night Southern loops that add the Dutch Caribbean. CocoCay is baked into both patterns in Royal’s release.

What you should do

Search Legend from Fort Lauderdale for mid-November 2026 onward if Icon Class from South Florida is the goal. Treat the Naming Cruise as a short CocoCay sampler, not a full Caribbean itinerary. Reconfirm embark terminal and parking at Port Everglades closer to sailing. Deployment and godmother facts follow Royal Caribbean’s 15 Sep 2026 release. Arrival and naming-week timing follow Cruise Hive on 15 Sep 2026.
