Grand Princess drops La Paz, Guaymas, and Puerto Vallarta for Polo

Princess cut La Paz, Guaymas, and Puerto Vallarta from Grand Princess’s 25 Sep 2026 Los Angeles cruise. Cruise Industry News and Cruise Hive, both dated 26 Sep 2026, quote a Princess guest advisory that blames Hurricane Polo. San Diego overnight and Mazatlán go on the schedule. Cabo San Lucas is shortened. If you cancel, Cruise Industry News says you get a future cruise credit. If you sail, you get $100 onboard credit. No Princess newsroom release was located.
The port swap is in both Tier 2 reports. The hour-by-hour dates for the dropped calls are Cruise Hive’s reading of the notice. The Cabo cut and the future-cruise-credit wording are Cruise Industry News.
What came off the schedule
Grand Princess left Los Angeles on Friday 25 Sep 2026 on a ten-night Baja Peninsula and Sea of Cortez cruise. Cruise Industry News says the original plan included La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Guaymas.
Princess told booked guests it was watching Hurricane Polo along the Mexico coast. The line amended the voyage to keep the ship out of the storm. Cruise Industry News quotes Princess: the ship will no longer call La Paz, Guaymas, or Puerto Vallarta.
Cruise Hive dates those lost calls. La Paz was Monday 29 Sep. Guaymas was Tuesday 30 Sep. Puerto Vallarta was Thursday 2 Oct. Cruise Industry News names the three ports and does not print those calendar dates.
What went on instead
San Diego is the first new call. Cruise Hive says the ship arrives for an overnight on 26 Sep and leaves on 27 Sep, in place of a sea day. Cruise Industry News places the San Diego overnight on 26 Sep 2026 and does not print the departure date.
Mazatlán is added on 1 Oct, per Cruise Hive. Cruise Industry News names Mazatlán and does not date it. That call is the Mexico stop that fills part of the cancelled Sea of Cortez sequence.
Cabo San Lucas stays, on a shorter visit. Cruise Industry News says the ship now has a late-night departure on the first day, after a plan to spend two days there. Cruise Hive does not mention a Cabo change. Cruise Industry News does not publish the hour. Match the late-night departure to the email in your Princess account before you lock a hotel or a tour.
Cancel option and onboard credit
Cruise Industry News is the clearer of the two on the cancel product. If you cancel, you receive a future cruise credit equal to 100 percent of the base fare paid for the voyage. If you sail, you receive $100 onboard credit.
Cruise Hive summarizes the cancel option as a full 100 percent refund of fare. Where those two sentences disagree, this post follows Cruise Industry News and treats the cancel product as a future cruise credit tied to base fare. Read the letter in your booking for the form of payment on your reservation.
Both reports stop the stay-aboard offer at $100 onboard credit. Budget only what your letter shows.
Storm context, as Cruise Hive cited it
Cruise Hive points at National Hurricane Center Advisory 24, issued at 8:00am. In that citation Polo has maximum sustained winds of 155 mph. The center is 480 miles south of Cabo San Lucas, moving west-northwest at 9 mph. Those figures are Cruise Hive’s reading on 26 Sep 2026. They explain the reroute. They are not a live forecast for the rest of your week.
Carnival Panorama and Navigator of the Seas already have separate Polo posts on this site. Panorama’s Ensenada add and Navigator’s Cabo cut stay on those sailings. This letter is the Guaymas cut and the San Diego overnight.
What you should do
If you are on the 25 Sep 2026 Los Angeles Grand Princess cruise, open the Princess app and the pre-cruise advisory. Clear plans that needed La Paz, Guaymas, or Puerto Vallarta. If your letter matches Cruise Hive, San Diego is the overnight on 26 to 27 Sep and Mazatlán is 1 Oct. Cabo is a shortened first-day call in the Cruise Industry News report. Choose the future-cruise-credit cancel or the $100 onboard credit from the letter in your account. Facts above follow Cruise Industry News and Cruise Hive, both dated 26 Sep 2026.
