The short answerCoral Princess has lost a Puerto Vallarta call because of Hurricane Rachel. Cruise Fever reports the cancellation. Quadratín Jalisco says Asipona Vallarta removed the Friday 2 Oct 2026 arrival from the port calendar. Neither outlet names a replacement port, a new clock, or a fare refund. Check the Princess app before you keep a tour.

Coral Princess has cancelled a call at Puerto Vallarta because of Hurricane Rachel. Cruise Fever, dated 30 Sep 2026, reports that cancellation and ties it to the storm. Quadratín Jalisco, published the same day, says the port took the ship off its arrival calendar. No Princess newsroom note was located. No guest letter is quoted in either report.

You lose that port day if this is your sailing. You do not yet have a published replacement, a new clock, or a stated refund.

The date on the port calendar

Quadratín says the cancelled arrival was Friday 2 Oct. It cites an update from Asipona Vallarta, the national port administration for Puerto Vallarta. The article says Coral Princess joins other ships that have changed plans while the storm is in the Mexican Pacific.

The same article says October then showed 20 cruise arrivals, including six double calls and one overnight. It says the schedule can still change as the weather and maritime safety rules change. That 20-arrival count is the port’s October book after this cut. It is not a Princess capacity figure.

Read the dateline with care. The article’s first line prints 30 Sep 2016. The page timestamp is 30 Sep 2026, 10:59. The structured publish time is 30 Sep 2026. Friday 2 Oct fits 2026, the day after this page’s news date. Treat 2016 as a bad year in the dateline. Treat the cancellation as a 30 Sep 2026 report about a Friday 2 Oct arrival.

Cruise Fever does not print 2 Oct. It says the scheduled Puerto Vallarta stop was cancelled. Use Quadratín for the date. Use Cruise Fever for the cruise-desk report that Princess adjusted the ship for Rachel.

Neither report names the departure port, the cruise length, or the rest of the day list. Open your booking for those.

What is not in the reports

Cruise Fever does not mention a substitute port. Quadratín does not either.

Neither outlet reports a fare refund, onboard credit, or a Princess tour refund. Do not put a dollar figure in your budget from these two stories. If you bought a Puerto Vallarta tour from Princess, the app is the place that will show a cancel. If you bought the tour from someone else, that operator is your call.

The storm, separate from the port note

National Hurricane Center Advisory 15 was issued at 2:00pm MST on 30 Sep 2026, which is 5:00pm ET. Rachel’s center was about 310 miles south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas, with winds of 85 mph, moving northwest at 8 mph. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.

The rainfall section covers coastal Guerrero, Michoacán, Colima, and Jalisco. It calls for 2 to 4 inches more rain, with isolated totals of 12 inches, and a risk of flooding and mudslides. Swells spread toward Baja California through the end of the week. The advisory does not name Coral Princess or Puerto Vallarta. It is the weather status. The itinerary fact is the port calendar plus Cruise Fever.

Cruise Fever’s own storm box, in the same 30 Sep article, puts Rachel about 350 miles southeast of Cabo San Lucas with winds around 85 mph. That is an earlier write-up than Advisory 15. Use the advisory for the 5:00pm ET position.

What you should do

If your Coral Princess booking shows Puerto Vallarta on Friday 2 Oct, refresh the Princess app and read the day list. Ask guest services what happens to a Princess-booked tour for that call. These reports do not answer the refund. If the call is gone and you still hold an independent tour, contact that operator.

If your sailing does not list Puerto Vallarta on 2 Oct, this calendar cut is a different voyage. The photo on this page is a Wikimedia image of the ship, not the file photo in the Quadratín article. Facts above follow Cruise Fever and Quadratín Jalisco on 30 Sep 2026, and National Hurricane Center Advisory 15 at 5:00pm ET the same day.
