Carnival warns Venezia guests not to arrive early in Manhattan

Carnival Venezia’s 14 Sep 2026 Manhattan embarkation came with a blunt instruction. Cruise Hive reported Carnival telling guests not to arrive early and to keep their appointment windows. Show up early and you may be denied entry until your slot.
Why the pier was tight
Manhattan Cruise Terminal worked Pier 88 that day with Oceania Vista sharing the same pier complex. Pier 90 has been out of service since January 2026, which shrinks how Carnival spreads luggage lines and security lanes.
Two ships and one constrained pier is enough to jam curb traffic. Carnival’s answer was timed arrivals, not an open morning. Shared piers also complicate wheelchair assistance and special-needs staging when both gangs want the same curb at once.
What did not change
Departure remained 4pm. Cruise Hive reported no itinerary change tied to the warning. You still sail on the published schedule. You just cannot treat the terminal like a walk-up counter all morning.
Port fees, dining reservations, and prepaid transfers stay as booked unless Carnival sends a separate notice. The warning is about curb timing, not about cutting ports later in the cruise.
How to play the appointment
Arrive inside your window with documents ready. Build hotel checkout and tunnel or bridge time backward from that window, not from a generic 10am assumption. If your rideshare or airport transfer wants an earlier drop, wait nearby rather than joining the denied-entry line at the door.
Luggage tagging and security still take time once you are inside. Early curb time does not create early ship time when the line is refusing early arrivals. Keep a charged phone so you can show digital boarding passes when staff call your window.
What you should do
Screenshot your Carnival appointment window before you leave the hotel. Tell anyone dropping you off the same window. Future Manhattan Carnival embarkations while Pier 90 stays dark deserve the same discipline. This guidance follows Cruise Hive’s report of Carnival’s Venezia warning ahead of the 14 Sep 2026 sailing.
