The short answerCruise Industry News reported on 4 Oct 2026 that Carnival Festivale floated at Meyer Werft in late September after the building dock was flooded. Cruise Fever reported the same float on 29 Sep and says the first guests sail 19 May 2027 on a four-night Bahamas cruise from Port Canaveral, then six- and eight-night Caribbean cruises. Cruise Industry News calls the ship a 5,200-passenger vessel on six- to eight-night cruises from Port Canaveral in May 2027. Meyer Werft's ship page says more than 6,400 guests. No single page is the full debut calendar.

Carnival Festivale is afloat. Cruise Industry News reported on 4 Oct 2026 that Meyer Werft said the ship floated for the first time in late September, after the building dock in Papenburg was flooded. Cruise Fever had already reported the float on 29 Sep 2026. If you are shopping a 2027 cruise from Port Canaveral, this is the ship those stories are talking about.

The earnings note that Festivale arrives in May 2027 is already a separate post: Carnival Corp’s 2027 cruises are half booked at record prices. That post does not carry a first sailing date. This one is about the float, and about the debut details the later articles do print.

What the yard did

Cruise Industry News says the float let Festivale move inside Meyer Werft’s building hall. That opened the dock for another ship. The yard’s enclosed dock can hold two large ships at once. Cruise Fever says the float means the blocks are together, and outfitting is the next stage.

Meyer Werft’s ship page lists Festivale as the sister of Carnival Jubilee, with delivery in 2027. It prints a length of about 344 metres, about 180,000 GT, and space for more than 6,400 guests. It does not print a float date or a homeport.

Cruise Industry News calls Festivale a 5,200-passenger ship. That is a different guest count from the yard page. Keep them apart. The 5,200 figure is Cruise Industry News. The “more than 6,400” figure is Meyer Werft.

What you would actually sail

Both Cruise Industry News and Cruise Fever put the first season in Port Canaveral in May 2027, on Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, alongside Mardi Gras.

They split on the opening cruise.

Cruise Fever says the debut is 19 May 2027, a four-night Bahamas cruise from Port Canaveral. After that, it says six- and eight-night Caribbean and Bahamas cruises are open to book.

Cruise Industry News says the maiden season is weeklong cruises of six to eight nights, highlighted by Celebration Key on Grand Bahama. It does not print 19 May. It does not print a four-night first cruise.

Book off Carnival’s current calendar. Use Cruise Fever’s 19 May date only as Cruise Fever’s date.

Cruise Fever also names the guest spaces it says are coming. Sunsation Point, on Decks 16 through 18, holds Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, which Cruise Fever calls the most family-friendly water park at sea. The same zone is listed for Carnival Tropicale. Cruise Fever adds 1,000 interconnecting rooms and larger kids’ spaces. Cruise Industry News says Waterworks Ultra has six slides, splash pads, and shaded play, and calls it the line’s largest waterpark, inside Sunsation Point.

Restaurants in the Cruise Fever list: Emeril’s Coastal Seafood, Uku Lei Lei, Fetaccine, and Le Bistro Musicale. Cruise Fever says Le Bistro Musicale is only on Festivale. Bars in that list: The Spark, Mix, and Festival Grounds Coffee & Bar. Cruise Industry News says Festivale’s public rooms lean musical. It says Tropicale’s lounges lean toward the golden age of show business. The 4 Oct article does not name those restaurants.

The ship behind it

Cruise Industry News says Festivale and Tropicale close out the Excel series that started with Mardi Gras in 2021. Both are LNG-powered. It says Tropicale’s construction started in early September with a Texas-themed steel cutting, and that Tropicale is due from Galveston in April 2028 on weeklong Caribbean and Bahamas cruises. Cruise Fever calls Festivale Carnival’s fourth Excel-class ship.

What this means for you

If you want the first Festivale cruise, look up 19 May 2027 on Carnival and see whether a four-night Bahamas sailing is still the one on sale. That date and length are Cruise Fever’s, from 29 Sep. If you want a week, Cruise Industry News is the outlet that describes six- to eight-night cruises from Port Canaveral in May 2027, with Celebration Key on the route.

The guest count on a brochure should come from Carnival’s booking page. Meyer Werft prints more than 6,400. Cruise Industry News prints 5,200. Those are not the same number, and this post does not average them.

Facts above follow Cruise Industry News on 4 Oct 2026, Cruise Fever on 29 Sep 2026, and Meyer Werft’s Festivale ship page.
