A charter cancels Brilliant Lady's 30 Oct 2027 Los Angeles cruise

Brilliant Lady will not sail the 7-night cruise that was due to leave Los Angeles on 30 Oct 2027. Cruise Industry News, 27 Oct 2026, says a statement to booked guests cites a private charter. The Charlotte Observer, Alisha dos Santos, updated 21 Oct, and VV Insider, Rob Sammons, 21 Oct, report the same cancellation.
The line’s quote in Cruise Industry News is short. Virgin is sorry for the disruption. It knows how much planning goes into the trip. It says it put options together so you can choose.

The cruise that came off
Cruise Industry News calls it a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise, round trip from Los Angeles, with San Diego, Cabo San Lucas, and Ensenada. It does not print the order. VV Insider’s voyage page, which titles the cruise as cancelled, prints this order.
| Day | VV Insider voyage page | Cruise Industry News |
|---|---|---|
| Sat 30 Oct 2027 | Los Angeles. | Departure. |
| Sun 31 Oct | San Diego. | Named, no date. |
| Mon 1 Nov | Ensenada. | Named, no date. |
| Tue 2 Nov | Sea day. | Not printed. |
| Wed 3 Nov | Cabo San Lucas. | Named, no date. |
| Thu 4 Nov and Fri 5 Nov | Sea days. | Not printed. |
| Sat 6 Nov | Los Angeles. | Not printed as a return date. |
The Charlotte Observer calls it a Halloween sailing. VV Insider uses that name too. Cruise Industry News does not. None of the three names who chartered the ship.
What you can do with the 30 Oct booking
All three reports give you a move or a refund. They do not print the same credit.
| Choice | Cruise Industry News, 27 Oct | Charlotte Observer, 21 Oct | VV Insider, 21 Oct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Move | Any other 7-night from Los Angeles, 18 Sep through 13 Nov 2027. The article calls this online reports. | Another 7-night from Los Angeles that fall. | An eligible 7-night from Los Angeles, 18 Sep through 13 Nov 2027. |
| Fare | Original fare and promotions honored. | Original fare and promotions honored. | Original fare and promotions honored. |
| Credit | $100 to spend onboard the new sailing. No per-person or per-cabin line. | $100 in onboard credit. | Sailor Loot. $100 per cabin in a standard cabin. $300 per cabin in a suite. |
| Refund | Full refund to the original payment. | Full refund of the voyage fare. | Full refund of the voyage fare to the original payment. |
| Deadline | Not printed. | Not printed. | 19 Nov 2026. No reply means the refund. |
Cruise Industry News does not say the $100 is per person or per cabin. VV Insider does, and it is the only one of the three that prints $300 for a suite. The suite line sits under the price-protected 7-night move. It is not printed as a separate offer for a shorter cruise. If you are in a suite, use your email. Do not assume $300 until that note matches VV Insider.
VV Insider also says the 19 Nov 2026 deadline covers sailors on the announced cancellation arrangements. If you booked with a First Mate, that article says the advisor handles the move or the refund.
Cruise Industry News adds one line about the window. Brilliant Lady is still due to sail other Mexican Riviera cruises then, including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. That is a range of cruises, not a promise that every 7-night in the window has all three ports.
The 6 Nov and 20 Nov cruises
Cruise Industry News stops at 30 Oct. The other two articles do not.
VV Insider says two more 7-night Los Angeles cruises are cancelled. The 6 Nov sailing had San Diego and an overnight in Cabo, and it was due back 13 Nov. The 20 Nov sailing had Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Mazatlan. The Observer agrees that 6 Nov becomes a 3-night and a 4-night, and that 20 Nov is also split.
| New sailing | What the reports say |
|---|---|
| 6 Nov 2027, 4 nights | VV Insider says it returns 10 Nov and calls it California Coast and Mexico. The Observer says this 4-night visits Catalina and Ensenada. |
| 10 Nov 2027, 3 nights | Both say it exists. VV Insider says it returns 13 Nov. The Observer says the 3-night visits Ensenada. |
| 20 Nov 2027, 4 nights | VV Insider prints a sea day, then Catalina and Ensenada, back on 24 Nov. |
| 24 Nov 2027, 3 nights | VV Insider says Ensenada, back on 27 Nov. |
The Observer says the dates come from VV Insider. Treat VV Insider as the source of the four dates. The Observer is the second write-up of that list.
If you hold 6 Nov or 20 Nov, the Observer says you can move to one of the shorter cruises. Money already paid applies to the new sailing, and that article adds $100 in onboard credit. VV Insider’s note for the 20 Nov shorter move says payments apply and existing Sailor Loot stays. It does not repeat the $300 suite line there.
What this means if you hold 30 Oct 2027
You are not sailing that week on Brilliant Lady. The charter client is not named. Pick a move or a refund.
If you move, the shared offer is another 7-night from Los Angeles, with the fare you already paid and the promotions kept. Cruise Industry News and the Observer print $100. VV Insider prints $100 per standard cabin and $300 per suite, as Sailor Loot. If those amounts differ from the email in your account, use the email.
If you want the money back, all three say the voyage fare goes to the original payment. Only VV Insider prints a last day to answer, 19 Nov 2026. The other two articles do not, so confirm the clock with Virgin or with your advisor before you wait.
