Ambition has lost two more Norway calls. Cruise Hive, Melissa Mayntz, 27 Oct 2026, and Travel Gossip, Ruth Lawes, the same day, both say Alesund on Wednesday 28 Oct is cancelled, and Stavanger on Friday 30 Oct is cancelled. Bristol on Monday 2 Nov stays.
This is the cruise that left Bristol on Friday 16 Oct, the 17-night Land of the Northern Lights. The earlier swap is already a separate post: Ambition swaps five Norway ports for a southern route. That note put Alesund on Wednesday and Stavanger on Friday. Those two dates are the ones that just came off.

The new end of the cruise
Both articles say the same shape. Molde runs overnight. Bergen is the next port. Friday is no longer Stavanger. The ship leaves Bergen that day for Bristol.
| Day | Both reports | Only one report |
|---|---|---|
| Tue 27 Oct | Molde becomes an overnight. | No shore hours in either. |
| Wed 28 Oct | Alesund cancelled. Gusts up to 28 knots. | Cruise Hive quotes the berthing reason. |
| Thu 29 Oct | Bergen, in the evening. | Cruise Hive prints 6:00 p.m. Travel Gossip does not. |
| Fri 30 Oct | Leave Bergen for Bristol. Stavanger cancelled. | Cruise Hive says the Bergen stay is overnight. |
| Mon 2 Nov | Bristol, for debarkation. | No clock in either. |
Travel Gossip prints Ålesund. Cruise Hive prints Alesund. This post uses Alesund and notes the other spelling.
Cruise Hive says the Thursday arrival is later than the revised schedule, so the ship stays in Bergen overnight and leaves Friday. Travel Gossip says the ship arrives Thursday evening and sails from Bergen to Bristol on Friday. The overnight is the Cruise Hive label. The Friday departure is in both.
What the line posted
Cruise Hive says the Facebook post went up late Monday 26 Oct. It quotes the wind line and the captain’s decision. Southerly gusts up to 28 knots are forecast for Wednesday morning. In those conditions, berthing and departing safely would present significant challenges, so the captain cancelled Alesund. A later quote says the Stavanger call is cancelled too. The article converts 28 knots to 32 miles per hour. Travel Gossip does not print that conversion or the berthing sentence.
Travel Gossip quotes a different Facebook passage. The line apologises for the further changes. Safety, wellbeing, and comfort of guests and crew stay the highest priority. The line says it is still adapting plans to avoid the worst of the weather.
Neither article links the Facebook post. Treat the two quotes as two passages, not one merged letter.
Travel Gossip says the five earlier port changes were for storms Austen and Boelo, and it calls this latest round stormy weather. Cruise Hive ties the new note to the latest forecasts and points back to those same named storms for the earlier change. The 28-knot figure is the reason both articles give for Alesund. Neither new quote prints a 70-knot figure. That number sits in the earlier post.
What this means if you are on Ambition
Do not plan on Alesund on Wednesday. Do not plan on Stavanger on Friday. Tuesday night is still Molde, in both reports. Thursday evening is Bergen. Friday is the trip toward Bristol. You are still due back on Monday 2 Nov.
Neither article prints a fare refund or an onboard credit. If you bought an Alesund or Stavanger tour through Ambassador, ask the ship. These reports do not say the tour is refunded.
If you are meeting the ship in Bristol, the date in both articles is still Monday 2 Nov. Neither prints the hour. Use Ambassador’s message for the clock.

Questions
- Which ports did Ambition just drop?
- Alesund on Wednesday 28 Oct 2026, and Stavanger on Friday 30 Oct. Cruise Hive, Melissa Mayntz, 27 Oct, and Travel Gossip, Ruth Lawes, 27 Oct, both report those two cancellations. Travel Gossip prints Ålesund. Cruise Hive prints Alesund. This is a later change than the five-port swap already on this site. That earlier route had put Alesund on Wednesday and Stavanger on Friday.
- What replaces those two calls?
- Molde becomes an overnight on Tuesday 27 Oct, in both reports. The ship then goes straight to Bergen, arriving Thursday 29 Oct in the evening. Cruise Hive prints 6:00 p.m. Travel Gossip does not. Both say the ship leaves Bergen on Friday 30 Oct and sails for Bristol. Cruise Hive says the Bergen stay is overnight because the arrival is later than the revised plan. Neither report prints shore hours for Molde or Bergen.
- Why did the captain cancel Alesund?
- Both articles say gusts of up to 28 knots are forecast for Wednesday morning 28 Oct. Cruise Hive quotes an Ambassador Facebook post from late Monday 26 Oct. In those conditions, berthing and departing safely would present significant challenges, so the captain cancelled the call. Travel Gossip reports the same wind figure and does not print that berthing sentence. It quotes a different Facebook line, an apology that puts safety, wellbeing, and comfort first.
- Does the ship still reach Bristol on 2 Nov, and is there a refund?
- Yes on the date, in both articles. Debarkation stays Monday 2 Nov. Neither article prints a fare refund, an onboard credit, or a rule for a tour you already bought in Alesund or Stavanger. If you bought that tour through Ambassador, ask the ship. The Facebook quotes in these two reports do not answer it.
