Ambassador is fitting a shore-power plug to Renaissance first. The reports put the finish inside a 2027 dry dock. A cruise you board this winter keeps its ports.

Seatrade Cruise News, Holly Payne, 30 Oct 2026, says the line signed EnerMoves for the connection on Renaissance. Work has started. Final installation and commissioning sit inside a scheduled dry dock in October and November 2027.

Travel Weekly, Phil Davies, 29 Oct, tells the same story and calls that yard period autumn 2027. It does not print October or November. Cruise Industry News on 31 Oct, and TTG, Dea Jusufi, on 29 Oct, print October and November 2027, with Seatrade.

The photo is the lead image on the Seatrade story, credited to Andy Humbert. The caption is about food-waste systems, sewage treatment, and IMO Tier III exhaust controls. It does not mention EnerMoves, and it does not date the frame.

Where the other two ships sit

Seatrade, Travel Weekly, and TTG put a second EnerMoves contract on Ambience, during a dry dock in November and December 2027. Ambition is planned for autumn 2028.

Cruise Industry News prints those later windows and spells the middle ship Ambiance. The other three pages spell it Ambience. This note uses Ambience.

TTG’s headline says the fleet rollout runs by the end of 2028. The same article’s installation line says Ambition is autumn 2028. Autumn is the date to hold. The headline does not name a month after that.

TTG also says a plugged-in ship can switch off its generators in port, and that the emissions result depends on how the shore electricity is made. That sentence is TTG’s. It is not a promise that a given pier has a socket.

Which ship does what

Travel Weekly and TTG both say Renaissance sails for the French market in summer, then runs winter Caribbean fly-cruises for British, French, and Dutch passengers. Both date her arrival to the January 2025 merger with Compagnie Française de Croisières. TTG prints the French name without accents.

TTG adds that Ambience and Ambition are the adult-only ships, sold as no-fly cruises from regional UK ports, and that the line was founded in 2021. Seatrade does not print that split.

No page here prints a fare, a list of ports where the new plug will work, or a departure that has been cancelled because of the contract.

What this means for you

If you are booked on Renaissance before the 2027 dry dock, this signing does not move a port. The reports do not say the ship can connect yet.

If your date falls in October or November 2027, open it. These stories call that stretch a scheduled dry dock. They do not print the sailings that come off sale. Do the same check for Ambience in November and December 2027, and for Ambition in autumn 2028.
