Norwegian will not build a private day destination at Daniel’s Head. The Bermuda Land Management Corporation said so on 21 Sep 2026. The Royal Gazette and Cruise Hive both report the same withdrawal.

What ended

NCL Holdings and BLMC signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding in July 2025. Talks stayed exploratory. No lease. No development rights. BLMC says NCLH gave its decision on 17 Aug 2026.

Andrew Dias, BLMC’s chief executive, said the corporation respects the choice and still wants another partner for the 18-acre Sandys site. The Royal Gazette quotes that language directly.

What does not change for you

Cruise Hive reports booked Bermuda calls are unaffected. Norwegian Aqua still overnight at King’s Wharf from 8am on Friday 25 Sep 2026 until 3pm on Saturday 26 Sep 2026 on that report. Recheck your own Folio and app if you sail that weekend.

Daniel’s Head sits west of Somerset Village, about a 15 to 20 minute drive from the King’s Wharf area on Cruise Hive’s geography note. It was never an open private island product you could book today. You lose a future concept, not a live shore day.

Why this still matters

If you delayed a Bermuda booking hoping for an NCL beach club there, stop waiting on that version. BLMC says the land stays available to other operators. No other line has confirmed interest in the sources above.

What you should do

Keep your Bermuda embarkation plans as written. Do not cancel tours or hotels over this announcement. Watch NCL and BLMC later only if you care about a future private destination, not this week’s sailing. This write-up follows The Royal Gazette on 22 Sep 2026 and Cruise Hive on 22 Sep 2026. No NCL newsroom release was found for the pullout.
