Norwegian Cruise Line put Norwegian Bella on sale on 20 Oct 2026. The sale release, datelined Miami at 10:56 a.m. ET, calls her the sixth and final ship in the Prima Class. Seven-day round-trip Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona begin in May 2028.
That is the product NCL will sell today. A delivery day, a maiden-voyage date, and a shipyard name are not in the release.

The US ship page, read the same day, matches the 3,921 guest figure, the 1,129-foot length, and a 2028 year built. It also prints 1,757 crew. The India ship page, read the same day, prints 3,901 guests at double occupancy and the same crew count. Quote 3,921 when you are matching the sale release and the US page. The India count is a different number on an NCL page. No third NCL document read today chooses between them.
Where the older filings sit
The Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026 still lists the 2028 Norwegian ship as “To come.” The class line is Next Gen “Methanol-Ready” Prima Class 6. The table prints about 170,000 gross tons and about 3,880 berths, and it says those figures are preliminary. A footnote says the designs for the final two Prima Class ships were lengthened and reconfigured to accommodate green methanol as a future fuel, and that more modifications are needed before that fuel can be used. The 16 Feb 2026 NCLH release uses the same unnamed row and the same footnote.
The 20 Oct sale release names the ship, prints 3,921 guests at double occupancy, and does not mention methanol. It does not say the 3,880 berth figure was withdrawn. Berths in the 10-Q and double occupancy in the sale release are different labels. No NCLH investor release naming Bella was on the investor press list checked 20 Oct 2026. The newest item there was the 15 Oct notice of the 29 Oct earnings call.

Norwegian Bella itinerary
The release says the inaugural season includes Rome, Florence, and Salerno in Italy, Marseille in France, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain. It does not print a day-by-day schedule, a first departure date, or the word homeport. The NCL FAQ says Bella begins with a full season in Europe, calls that a first for the Prima Plus Class, and names Italy, Spain, and France. The sale release calls the ship the grand finale of the Prima Class. Both labels are on NCL pages today.
Seatrade Cruise News, Anne Kalosh, 20 Oct 2026, prints the Barcelona calls as Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno, Salerno, Marseille, and Palma de Mallorca. Cruise Hive, Melissa Mayntz, 20 Oct 2026, lists Salerno, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Marseille, La Spezia, and Palma de Mallorca, and says the ports depend on the departure date. La Spezia is in that Cruise Hive list. It is not in the sale release, and it is not in the Seatrade sentence above.
Cruise Hive also reports a five-night cruise from Malta to Barcelona embarking Tuesday 2 May 2028, with an overnight in Malta, then Salerno and Civitavecchia. The same article says Norwegian has not labeled which sailing is the maiden voyage. This desk did not open a live booking to confirm the 2 May date. Treat it as Cruise Hive’s report, not as a date in the release.
Cruise Industry News, the same day, stays with the release: Barcelona, May 2028, and the city names Rome, Florence, Salerno, Marseille, and Palma. It does not add a yard or a maiden date.
How big Norwegian Bella is
About 1,129 feet and about 170,000 gross tons, with 3,921 guests at double occupancy, in the sale release. The release says Bella joins Norwegian Aura as the largest ships in the NCL fleet. Aura’s own 9 Oct 2026 release, covered in Norwegian Aura arrives early and adds two Mediterranean sailings, says Aura is nearly 1,130 feet and about 170,000 gross tons. The Bella release says Aura is due for delivery in May 2027 and will sail the Caribbean while Bella sails Europe.
The 10-Q also lists a separate Norwegian class from 2030, each ship about 227,000 gross tons and about 5,000 berths, with those figures marked preliminary. That class is a later order. It is not Bella.
What the sale release puts on board
Ocean Heights runs from deck 18 through deck 21. The release calls it an open-air complex that is a playground by day and a lit social space at night, with LED projections. Named pieces include Eclipse Racers, the Bella Free Fall waterslide, The Wave (a raft slide for up to four riders), The Drop (a dry slide the release says covers 10 decks), the Bella Ropes Course, the Bella Midway, a nine-hole mini golf course on deck 20, and Moon Climber. An image caption in the same release calls the ropes course 82 feet. The body text does not repeat that length.
The US ship page calls Ocean Heights a three-story complex and says the ship has six waterslides. The release’s deck span is 18 through 21, and the release names slides without giving a count of six. Those two NCL descriptions sit side by side. This post does not turn the deck span into a story count.
Ocean Boulevard wraps deck 8. The release says it has more seating than the promenade on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, plus hot tubs and an outdoor bar. Infinity Beach has infinity pools, daybeds, hot tubs, and a bar. The pool deck is more than 15 percent larger than the pool decks on Aqua and Luna. Kids’ Aqua Park, The Party Slide, Infinity Loop, and Horizon Park on deck 19 are in the release. Vibe Beach Club is the adults-only area, with infinity hot tubs, an oceanfront bar, loungers, and daybeds.
Youth spaces in the release: Little Explorers’ Cay for ages two to six, Adventure Alley for ages six to 10, and Surf’s Bay for teens. The US ship page also names Splash Academy for ages 3 to 12 and Entourage for ages 13 to 17. Those are the page’s club names. The release does not use them.
Nearly 2,000 staterooms, from insides and studios to balconies. The Haven has 159 suites, designed by Piero Lissoni, aft, with private elevators, an infinity pool, two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and cold room, separate family and adults-only areas, a restaurant, a bar, a lounge, and 24-hour butler and concierge service. The US FAQ says this is one of NCL’s largest Haven retreats. That sentence is the FAQ’s comparison. The counted figure in the release is 159 suites.
Hull art is by Australian artist George Rose. Interiors are credited to AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio Dado.
The aerial on this page is the NCL newsroom rendering labeled Norwegian Bella Aerial 6. The newsroom page stamp reads 9 Jan 2021. The image file’s last-modified header, checked 20 Oct 2026, reads 15 Oct 2026. This post uses the 20 Oct sale release as the announcement.
Which yard is building her
The release says Fincantieri is building Bella and Aura. It does not name the yard. Seatrade says both ships are at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard. Cruise Hive says Bella is at the Fincantieri yard in Marghera, along with Aura. Those two reports name different yards. Until NCL or Fincantieri prints one, the yard is unconfirmed.
How to book Norwegian Bella
The release says bookings are open through a travel advisor, 888-NCL-CRUISE (625-2784), or ncl.com. It does not print a fare, a deposit, or a maiden-voyage tag. If you want the first week anyone can buy, open the May 2028 Barcelona inventory and read the specific sailing. Do not assume 2 May is the maiden. Cruise Hive says the line has not labeled one.
New 2028 NCL inventory is also the inventory the company said would use earlier pricing. That is a separate story: Norwegian prices NCL fares earlier in the booking curve. It is not a Bella fare.
More reporting is on the Norwegian Cruise Line news hub. The line page is Norwegian Cruise Line. Norwegian Prima is the namesake of the class already in service.
What this means for you
If you are pricing a May 2028 Mediterranean cruise, Bella is on sale from Barcelona. The ports to trust until a day-by-day schedule is on your booking are the ones in the sale release: Rome, Florence, Salerno, Marseille, and Palma de Mallorca. The size to quote is the sale release: about 170,000 gross tons, about 1,129 feet, 3,921 guests at double occupancy. A delivery date can still move. The 10-Q says expected delivery dates can slip. Book the sailing you can see, and keep the terms.
