Princess launched a native app inside ChatGPT on 28 Sep 2026. The PR Newswire release, timestamped 10:00 ET that day, says Princess is the first global cruise line to do it. Cruise Industry News, also dated 28 Sep 2026, reports the same launch and says the first-line claim comes from the press release. Treat “first” as Princess’s claim.

You use it to look up a cruise. You still decide what to book.

What you can ask

Install the plugin, then tag @princesscruises. Princess says you can explore more than 330 destinations across 17 ships. In the same chat you can:

  • Find cruises by destination, date, and length
  • Compare Princess itineraries and ships
  • Look at ports, shore excursions, cruisetours, onboard experiences, and packages
  • Check current pricing and availability
  • Narrow the list to what you want

The release gives sample prompts. One asks for seven-night cruises that visit Santorini in August 2027. Another asks for help planning an Alaska cruise next summer. A follow-up can ask which options visit Glacier Bay National Park, which ones leave from Seattle, or how two itineraries differ.

Neena Vicente, vice president of digital commerce and experience, said travelers now use this kind of tool to weigh choices and plan complex trips. She called the app a new way into cruise discovery. The release also says the chat stays connected to Princess’s booking tools. It does not print a checkout price or a deposit button. Check the fare on a Princess page before you pay.

The app starts on ChatGPT. Princess says it intends to add other AI platforms later, if those platforms allow it and the technical work is done. Cruise Industry News repeats that limit. It does not name a second platform.

How to add it

These steps are from the 28 Sep 2026 press release.

  1. Log in to ChatGPT, or create a free account.
  2. Add the Princess app plugin. On a desktop, open Plugins in the left sidebar. On the mobile app, tap the menu icon at the top left, tap the settings gear at the bottom of the sidebar, then open Browse Plugins.
  3. Search for Princess Cruises.
  4. Click + to add, install, and connect the plugin.
  5. Open a new chat.
  6. Type a request and send it. The release’s example is: @princesscruises help me plan a cruise to Japan next spring.

What you should do

If you are pricing a Princess cruise, add the plugin and run one search you already know, such as a date and a length. Compare that answer with the same search on princess.com before you treat a fare as bookable. The release says the prices are current. It does not say a chat quote is a held fare. The app is ChatGPT only for now. Steps and counts above follow the Princess release on 28 Sep 2026, which Cruise Industry News restated the same day.
