9 Royal Caribbean 2027 Announcements Most Cruisers Missed

Royal Caribbean confirmed nine separate 2027 moves over the past year. Most never got a launch event. If you are booking 2027, these change which ship you sail, which port you leave from, and where you can go.

1. Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami

Royal Caribbean Group broke ground on Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami on Jan. 8, 2026. The project is a $345 million partnership with Miami-Dade County. Completion is slated for late 2027.

The terminal is sized for Icon-class ships and up to 7,000 passengers. The package includes a multi-level parking garage and an intermodal facility. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea can use it. The design targets LEED certification.

If you sail an Icon-class ship from Miami after it opens, this is the building you walk through.

2. Harmony of the Seas Amplification, then Port Canaveral

Harmony of the Seas spent spring 2026 in dry dock in Cadiz, Spain. Cruise Hive reported the work finished May 19, 2026, after about six weeks. The ship gained nearly 100 new staterooms, including panoramic suites above the bridge. New venues include Lime & Coconut, El Loco Fresh, Samba Grill, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, and Pesky Parrot.

Harmony then finished a Mediterranean stretch and crossed to Port Canaveral. Royal Caribbean’s Nov. 4, 2025 Caribbean release puts the amplified Harmony on year-round 7-night Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral for 2027-28, alongside Star of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas.

If you last sailed Harmony before the refit, treat it as a different product. Check the current deck plan before you book on muscle memory.

3. Royal Beach Club Lelepa

Royal Beach Club Lelepa opens in Vanuatu in October 2027. Royal Caribbean’s March 18, 2026 release calls it the line’s first exclusive cruise destination in the South Pacific and the Southern Hemisphere. The official destination page says admission is included in the cruise fare. Two beaches, an adults-only area, and a Nature Trail are part of the included visit. Paid extras include some water sports and selected dining.

Anthem of the Seas from Sydney and Voyager of the Seas from Brisbane are the first ships confirmed to call. First visits align with sailings departing late October 2027.

This is the private-island style product outside the Caribbean and Bahamas. If you want that format in the South Pacific, 2027 is the first year on the books.

4. Europe summer 2027, six ships

Royal Caribbean’s Oct. 29, 2025 Europe release opened a six-ship summer 2027 season. Legend of the Seas returns from Barcelona and Rome on 7-night Western Mediterranean routes. Rhapsody of the Seas sails from Athens. Brilliance of the Seas sails from Ravenna. Odyssey of the Seas sails Greek Isles routes from Rome. Explorer of the Seas covers multiple Mediterranean homeports. The original plan put Mariner of the Seas into Southampton for its first Europe season.

Royal Beach Club Santorini is part of that Europe package for ships that call Santorini, including itineraries on Rhapsody, Brilliance, and Odyssey.

Bookings opened for Crown & Anchor members on Oct. 29, 2025, ahead of the public opening on Oct. 30.

One later change matters if you held Southampton. Cruise Industry News reported April 1, 2026 that Freedom of the Seas replaced Mariner for summer 2027 from Southampton, with Mariner guests offered a move to Freedom, another sailing, or a refund. Check your confirmation if you booked the original Mariner dates.

5. Caribbean and Bahamas, 13 ships wide

The Nov. 4, 2025 Caribbean release is the year-round Florida core. Star of the Seas runs 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Amplified Harmony joins Port Canaveral on 7-nights. Utopia of the Seas keeps 3- and 4-night getaways from Port Canaveral. Wonder of the Seas runs 3- and 4-nights from Miami. Radiance of the Seas adds Tampa on 4- to 8-night Western Caribbean sailings.

Royal Caribbean also flagged a return to Samaná, Dominican Republic, and day-pass access to Royal Beach Club Paradise Island and Royal Beach Club Cozumel on matching itineraries.

The Nov. 12, 2025 Texas, California, and Northeast release widens the departure map further with Icon, Liberty, and other ships from Galveston, plus Cape Liberty and Baltimore options. Crown & Anchor early access for that block opened Nov. 12, 2025.

If you only watch Miami and Port Canaveral, you will miss half the 2027 map.

6. Galveston looks like a cut. It is an upgrade.

Royal Caribbean’s Nov. 12, 2025 Texas release put Symphony of the Seas into Galveston for 2027. On April 9, 2026, Royal Caribbean Blog published a company spokesperson statement moving Symphony to Fort Lauderdale instead for 6- and 8-night Caribbean sailings.

The same statement kept Icon of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas in Galveston. Icon arrives mid-August 2027 for 6- to 8-night Caribbean cruises, the first Icon-class homeport outside Florida in the U.S. Liberty, fresh off its May 2026 Amplification, stays on shorter Western Caribbean trips from Texas. The Nov. 12 release listed Liberty Galveston sailings beginning April 2027.

At the same time, the Port of Galveston said on Aug. 26, 2026 that it is negotiating a fifth cruise terminal at Pier 14 with Royal Caribbean Group, sized for Icon-class ships next to Terminal 10. Trade reporting describes a proposed 20-year ground lease with extension options. Definitive agreements are not required until Dec. 31, 2027. No completion date is set.

Symphony leaving Texas is not Royal Caribbean leaving Texas. Icon and a second Icon-capable berth are the bet.

7. Four-ship Alaska season

Royal Caribbean’s Oct. 22, 2025 Alaska release locks a four-ship summer 2027 season. Anthem of the Seas sails open-jaw routes between Seward and Vancouver, with Hubbard Glacier scenic cruising and the ship’s first Cruisetour land packages, including Denali. Quantum of the Seas runs 7-nights roundtrip from Seattle. Serenade of the Seas covers the Inside Passage from Vancouver. Voyager of the Seas runs 7-nights from Seattle to Juneau, Skagway, Endicott Arm, and Dawes Glacier.

Crown & Anchor members could book starting Oct. 22, 2025, ahead of the public opening on Oct. 23.

Alaska is not a new product. Four ships plus Anthem Cruisetours is the part most people scrolled past.

8. Asia-Pacific gets bigger

Royal Caribbean’s March 18, 2026 Australia release paired Anthem from Sydney and Voyager from Brisbane with Royal Beach Club Lelepa. The same day, a separate release put Quantum of the Seas back into Singapore from October 2027 through March 2028.

Royal Caribbean Blog reported Aug. 12, 2026 that the 2027-28 Asia-Pacific season then grew again. Ovation of the Seas joins Brisbane from November 2027. Voyager moves across Brisbane, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Navigator of the Seas extends in Singapore through October 2027 on short Southeast Asia sailings.

If you want South Pacific island days and Asia city hops in the same planning window, 2027-28 is when Royal Caribbean connects both.

9. Hero of the Seas, Miami, August 2027

Hero of the Seas is the fourth Icon Class ship. Royal Caribbean’s March 30, 2026 release sets the Miami debut for August 2027. Sailings are 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean routes, every one visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay. Ports listed include St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan.

Onboard headlines in that release include nine pools, 28 dining venues, new family raft slides including the first funnel raft slide at sea, and the three-deck Ultimate Family Treehouse for up to 12 guests. Crown & Anchor booking opened April 1, 2026. Public booking opened April 2.

Royal Caribbean Blog’s April 1, 2026 booking-open snapshot showed Ultimate Family Treehouse fares that can clear $200,000 for two on peak weeks, with much lower shoulder-season samples. Those figures move with dynamic pricing. Check Cruise Planner for the sailing you want.

Terminal G from announcement one is the Miami building sized for ships like Hero. Icon leaving for Galveston in the same August window is how Miami stays covered.

What you should do

If you are shopping 2027, match the ship to the homeport after the April 2026 swaps, not to the first press release you screenshot. Crown & Anchor early windows for most regions already ran in October and November 2025, so popular categories are thinner now. Pull current Cruise Planner inventory for Hero, Icon in Galveston, Freedom in Southampton, and any Lelepa sailing before you lock flights.
