Hero of the Seas sets its maiden voyage for August 2027

The short answerHero of the Seas, the next Icon-class ship, has a maiden voyage date of 11 August 2027. Royal Caribbean has narrowed the name of the ship's dog to seven finalists and opened it to a public vote.
The date is the useful part. Icon-class ships open for booking well ahead of the maiden voyage, and the first season tends to price at a premium.
Hero is the fourth Icon-class ship. Two more, Icon VI and VII, were ordered in April 2026 with financing committed.
