Freedom of the Seas loses 20+ Miami sailings for summer 2027

Royal Caribbean has pulled more than twenty Freedom of the Seas sailings from its summer 2027 Miami schedule. The cancelled departures include four-night Bahamas runs and nine-night trips to Aruba and Curacao. The ship moves to Southampton instead.

The July earnings release used a specific phrase: a modest booking impact for select itineraries, primarily due to prolonged geopolitical activity. A company spokesperson added that deployment planning is dynamic and regularly reviewed based on demand, capacity requirements, and broader fleet considerations.

What happens if you were booked

Guests on the cancelled sailings are being offered future cruise credit, or the option to rebook on Wonder of the Seas or Jewel of the Seas.

What to do about your own 2027 booking

This is the second time in 2026 that Royal Caribbean has flagged geopolitical pressure on bookings, after a similar note about Mediterranean and West Coast of Mexico itineraries in April. If you hold a 2027 booking in either region, check its status with Royal Caribbean or your travel advisor rather than waiting for an email.
